How to Get to Gaeta
Gaeta is located 120 km from Rome and 108 km from Naples. The airports in Rome are “Ciampino” and “Fiumicino,” while Naples has “Capodichino” airport. You can reach Gaeta by train, stopping at the Formia-Gaeta station, and then take a bike, bus (Cotral line), or taxi. If you wish to reach Gaeta by car from Rome, you can either take the A1 highway, exit at the Cassino tollgate, and then take the SS Cassino-Formia towards Formia (travel time 2 hours), or take the Via Appia or SS 148 Pontina towards Latina – Terracina – Gaeta (toll-free travel time 2 hours and 10 minutes). From Naples, you can take the A1 highway, exit at the Cassino tollgate, and then take the SS Cassino-Formia towards Formia (travel time 1 hour and 30 minutes), or take the Strada Domiziana towards Minturno – Formia – Gaeta (toll-free travel time 1 hour and 40 minutes).
ZTL Zone
Residenza Punta Stendardo is located in the historic center of Gaeta, within the Limited Traffic Zone. The Municipality allows access and transit in this area for Residenza guests, but it is mandatory to communicate the car’s license plate number, the owner or driver of the car, and the period of stay upon arrival at the hotel. This information will be communicated by the management to the Municipality of Gaeta within 48 hours.
Parking
Parking in the historic center of Gaeta – ZTL is reserved for residents who own property, so guests of lodging facilities can only park in the private parking spaces provided by Residenza. Residenza offers free parking for cars/motorcycles (one spot per room) subject to availability, which must be booked in advance of arrival. Parking is also permitted in the blue zones outside the historic center of Gaeta – ZTL by purchasing the required ticket for hourly, daily, or weekly parking.
Tourist Tax
In Gaeta, like in most tourist cities, there is a tourist tax. The tourist tax is €2.50 per person per day, not included in the room rates, and is paid directly at the hotel.
